Mrs. Jimenez is excited to “Rise Up” with her fellow Phoenix at North Monterey County Middle School where she will serve as Administrator for the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Jimenez joins us after serving as an administrator for the past 4 years at Echo Valley Elementary.

She is a graduate of CSU Stanislaus, where she received her Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies with a concentration in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She went on to receive her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential through the CalStateTEACH program at CSU Monterey Bay. She holds a Masters Degree in Applied School Leadership from National University.

Mrs. Jimenez began her teaching career in 2008  as an instructional assistant in an ELD center in the Oak Grove School District. She then went on to teach 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. She served on many leadership and parent committees and was recognized for quality instruction and community involvement during her time with the district.

She moved back to her hometown of Hollister in 2017 and began teaching at HDLA, the Hollister Dual Language Academy, which serves students in grades TK-8. Mrs. Jimenez taught 8th grade ELA, Math8, Algebra and ELD .  She also established a middle school ASB program which has student representatives in grades 6-8 and continues to this day.  She was recognized by the district and county as Teacher of the Year in 2018.  While teaching at HDLA, she spent her weekends attending classes to earn a Tier 1 Administrative Credential. She then served as an assistant principal, splitting her time between two elementary school sites. In her free time, she enjoys reading, visiting local coffee shops and spending time with her loved ones.

Natalia Macias is excited to be returning to NMCMS for the rest of the 2024 school year.  She will be serving alongside Mrs. Jimenez as the co-administrator of NMCMS. Last year she was the  Administrator/Assistant Principal at our NMC Middle School.  Previously,  she has worked as an elementary Vice Principal for seven years: five in Salinas City Elementary School District and two in Soledad. She has taught grades 4th-8th for 17 years, with one year serving at Echo Valley Elementary before entering into administration and 16 years in Southern California for El Rancho Unified School District.

Her extensive experience at the middle school level gives her the advantage of knowing what best sets up students for success as we prepare them along the way.  As you get to know her, you will learn that she is a visible and available leader. She spends very little time in her office during instructional time. She team builds to offer students as many extended learning opportunities as possible, in addition to core instruction, because she realizes the need for students to first feel connected to school so that they are driven to engage in learning. It has always been her mission to get students to love learning so that we lead all students to unleash their talents and find their passions.

She grew up in Whittier, California and attended UCLA where she earned her degree in education and began her teaching career immediately upon graduation. She has lived in Monterey since 2014 and recently purchased a home within 5 miles of NMCMS so that she could immerse herself in the community in which she serves.

She welcomes the NMCMS community to reach out to her via email at any time with any input or inquiry. She is bilingual and prides herself on her open door policy.
